Challenges

When it was announced that Nine was merging with Fairfax Media Limited to become the largest Australian-owned media company, the Talent Acquisition teams at both companies knew major changes were coming, especially when it came to their recruiting technology. Given that both companies had different applicant tracking systems, processes, and integrations, the team had to find a solution that could unify 3 different recruitment modules to operate as one.

Solutions

Given the complexity of this implementation, SmartRecruiters collaborated closely with multiple stakeholders across Nine’s 3 different business lines to ensure that the new system would meet the needs & requirements for the entire organization. First, the team conducted a deep investigation of the state of all current recruitment modules. They then workshopped to determine which integrations & process improvements were necessary in order to meet their desired future state. SmartRecruiters & Nine executed on these workstreams (e.g., integrations, process improvements, feature & function training, etc.) to create the ultimate recruiting machine.

What’s Next

Following the initial go-live, Nine’s Talent Acquisition team plans to expand their capabilities by building out talent communities in SmartCRM with the hopes of building a pool of quality candidates for future roles.
